Review: Mr. Banh Mi, Outer Richmond, San Francisco

Summary: Great sandwiches, great price.

We picked up a couple sandwiches here on our way to a hike at Land's End nearby. The restaurant is still in "COVID mode", meaning they have a table and a cash register set up right inside the front door, no indoor seating. You make your order, then a few minutes later pick up at the window. It's a very tiny place anyway, even when fully open to the public there would only be a few tables inside.

We ordered a BBQ pork sandwich and a fried chicken sandwich since we'd never seen the latter on a banh mi before. Both were tasty, although the chicken wasn't especially interesting--just decent chicken strips, basically. The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of chew.

The staff was friendly and the sandwiches were ready very quickly. I would go back if I was in the area and wanted a quick lunch. It was $20 for two sandwiches and a can of Coke.
